Tadpole monster

A quick sketch I did for a button design.  I like monster and I like tadpole, so why not a tadpole monster!!

Cat Sketch

When I do lesson plan for my class, I will spent alot of time thinking. And when I think, I like to draw randomly. My blue pencil become an extension of my brain. Tonite, I drew pages of cats... i don't know why, maybe because I was playing catch with my cat earlier (yes.. my cat is cool, he like to play catch!) So, I end up designing this week drawing class for drawing cats!!

my weekend :(

Got some kind of allergy over the weekend, my nose and eyes just keep running! I think I used 2 boxes of tissues . I hate it... can't get anything done and I felt terrible. Its gone now, but I am still unable to work... its 5:10 in the morning now, I still have to plan my lesson for tomorrow and also I need to take out the trash. (its going to be so cold outside...) I should stop posting on my blog now.

I think allergy is just an excuse for me not to do anything over the weekend.

Books!!

I like books, books with picture and drawing! In my work room, I have 4 book shelves filling with books. Recently I have been running of of room. Above is the book shelves on both side of my drawing desk. There are so many book on it that I afraid one day it will just fall over. So I have decide to re-organize all my book shelf to make it easier to find books and less messy looking. Lets hope I mange to finish this task...

Raaaa!

Finish the bat I started last nite. All done in Illustrator. I finish this in a garage while waiting for my car being fix, took them 4 hours to finish my car, sometime I like having my laptop around :)

Halloween Bat!

A bat! Halloween is coming and why not draw a halloween bat! Its done in Illustrator and it was fun drawing it. Its not done yet, I still want to add some shade/texture to it. Hopefully I actually get around to finsih it...

The saw from last character is for him. He was originally holding the saw instead, but I change it. There is another character supposed to be infront of him. If you go to "side A" (link on the right side >) you can see who is getting the axe. I will probably post up the whole picture on the other side tomorrow.

Its been awhile I post anything here. got lazy. I will do more drawing here in the next coming week or so, hopefully I can shake that lazy bug off me. :)

Big sucker!

I also have a fish tank at home. It only have one fish in it and I don't really look at the tank or even feed the fish. Last nite I took a look at it and saw this in it! Its a pleco, one of the sucker fish like like to eat the algae in the tank. He is HUGH now!!! I don't realize it had grow to this big! I got him couple year ago and he just keep growing. Its amazing how big he can get with so little food he got and given the bad water condition... I got to look closer into the tank, maybe there will be some other monster in there!

I hated the girl character I drew couple characters ago. So I went back to the drawing table and re-draw her. I like this one a bit better, she have more character and style to her. I might fix her more later, but for now, I will just leave her alone.

Zombie Muffin!!!!

I wasn't joking when I say I am going to do a cook book. Today, I actually sit down and start drawing what on the menu! First thing on the menu: Zombie Muffin! and yes I will show you how to create a Zombie Muffin in my cook book. Now you know the direction I am going with my cook book, kind of make more sense, I guess....

Random Drawing

Just pick up a pencil and start drawing, I like to do that sometime, you never know what came out of it. Well, I dont know why I drew this, and whats with the square nose.... But i like the colour and expression on the characters.

old layout

A layout I drew a long time ago, Its done in blue marker. Its just a rough stage before watercolour. Testing on the lighting and composition. I find couples of these ina folder whole I was cleaning. Maybe I will pose some more later.

random doodle

Just some random doodle i did during class. Maybe I should start a sketchbook in the studio so that people and myself can doodle in it. BUt then again, if i do that we wont be working, we will just be drawing alot...

Comic page

I drew a comic book before, someone wrote it, I drew and design everything, from cover to pencil to inking to lettering and colouring. Its alot of work.... the whole comic run about 85 pages!! Took me over a year to finish it. Of course I am not allow to post the whole thing in here, since the rights is not mine. Its own by the creater and writer. But I will post bit and pieces in here. (:

Ferris Wheel

Went to Niagra Falls during the long weekend. couple of weeks ago. I spend couple of days there and it was nice, well, shopping aside... I also went on this really high Ferris wheel, it was nice to see things in a different prospective sometime :)

I have finish all the colouring of the character and they look initeresting lining up together. Now I have to put them together in a poster.

I did more colour testing on the character, i think the colour vesion is starting to grow on me. I probably will do the rest of them in this style. :)

Colour!

I decided to make all the children all weird skin colour. Yeah.. it look abit funny, but it look more interesting and I kind of like it. I am not sure i will go ahead and colour this way. or should I colour it normal, like the boy couples of post below?

Just testing some colour and style. Its done in photoshop, but its taken me longer than I expect. I will probably do another one and see If i can find a easier way to draw this.

A frog

I drew this a loooong time ago. I just feel the need to post it here. He is from a short story I didn't get to finish. The story been in the back of my head for a long time now. Hopefully, by post some of the character here, it will kind of make me have to will to pick up a pencil and finish the story. I am so weak sometime.....

Gogo vs War Machine

My cat Gogo love the smell of War Machine! Everything I put it close to him, he will just bite it, probably thinking its a toys. Well, it is a toy, just not for him.
I am not a big fan of the new design of Ironman 2. I hate the triangle on his chest. But I love the design for War Machine. I will probably break down and buy a Hot Toys War Machine later....

Shrimp rider WIP

I did a shrimp drawing on the studio blog on the other side, it was abit different from this. (if you want to see it, click on "side A" on the right side) The Shrimp I post HERE is how I picture the drawing to be like, with a boy riding on the shrimp. (yeah, its pretty weird...) I just end up don't have enough time to finish it.

Well, this drawing is not finish as well. the shrimp is done, but the boy is not. He still need to change some of his colour and texture and shading need to added. Also detail on the pants and toes is not done. I also want to change the background abit too.

So this is more of a work in process. I will post up the process so I go along. Hopefully it wont take me too long :)

Mall sketches

I went to mall with some of my students last week. Not to shop, of course.

What we did was just sit at the food court and draw people eating their dinner. I used to do that alot with my co-worker, in-between job or just have nothing to do. It is a good drawing excises, I still find it usefull, and I need to do it more often.

At first, you will find it weird just sitting there looking at people and draw, its like stalking people, you dont want to get caught.... There weren't alot of people around when we were there anyways, i guess course its kind of late and its a weekday.

It was kind of fun and different then drawing in the studio. We got soooo excite when a weird looking person sit across from us or just pass by everytime.... lol. Course they are so much funner to draw then normal looking people! The world need more weird looking people!!!



This is just one of the few sketches I did in the food court. I will post more later. Didnt get alot done that day, I think I spend more time eating my ice-cream than sketching.

Location design

Another of my old drawing. Well, not as old as the last post.. lol. Its about 7 years ago, i think. I was working in an animation studio, and my job is location design and character rotation. It was a pretty fun job and i learned alot from it. Above drawing is just a sample of my work back then. Now, I dont get to draw much, I think I do math more than drawing on a daily bases.... I need to get back to the drawing table!

Dinosaur VS Tank!

Why not start the blog with a drawing of mine. Yes, I drew that.. a long time ago. I was maybe 6 or 7 year old, not sure about the ago, i didn't put the date down :(
